What made you choose Matt Mathews Photography for your boudoir experience?

As a sexual assault therapist, the boudoir photography experience is one that I encourage many survivors to make as a way to take back their sense of sexuality and confidence. I had done research on different boudoir photographers in the area. I kept coming back to Matt Mathews Photography because his portraits were tasteful and classy. I wanted to leave the experience feeling beautiful and confident and that was exactly what his team provided. 

What was your favorite part about your boudoir session?

Honestly, the team. Everyone on staff is your personal advocate and cheerleader. After my session, I sat with Matt and Brianna and we had a deep conversation about the impact of his work and how it brings healing to so many men and women. I not only left feeling beautiful and confident, but also inspired. 

Were you nervous about your shoot?

I was so nervous. To top it off, I found out I was pregnant literally the night before. I had this idea in my mind that I would maybe drink a few mimosas to help relax. But the team made me feel at ease immediately. 

What are you taking away from your boudoir experience?

I am taking away an ownership and appreciation of the woman I am at 34 and who I have worked hard to become. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, I spent a good bit of my life feeling ashamed of my body and my sexuality. Combine that with oppression of women that exists, I found it difficult to work through this feeling of being dirty and ashamed. I am a different woman today and my boudoir experience helped me capture that.

Would you recommend a boudoir session to your friends?

YES!! I have told clients, friends, family members. But I am also partial to the boudoir experience with Matt Mathews Photography. No one does it like he and his team.
